For the sake of your own education, select symbols and religions with which you are unfamiliar. Create a post, at least 250 words in length, in which you present and explain one or more symbols representing one or more of these four religions: Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and/or Baha’i). Explain, in other words, the meaning and significance of the menorah and/or the Star of David for Judaism, of the ichthus and/or cross for Christianity, of the crescent moon and star for Islam, of the nine-point star for Baha’i. Embed an image of the symbol(s) and explain the significance of the symbol(s) for the religion(s) involved.
This discussion will receive a numerical grade up to 100 points and is worth five percent of the student’s final course grade. The discussion will be graded on the basis of:
How well the student writes the English language (valued at 40 percent of the grade);
How thoroughly the student completes both steps (40 percent for Step One and 10 percent for Step Two); and
How professional, courteous, and respectful the student is in his/her response(s) to others (10 percent).
