Swamped with your writing assignments? Take the weight off your shoulder!
For this paper, you will be responding critically to a single episode of
the TV show, Bones or CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) by summarizing the
details of the case from a Forensic Anthropology perspective. You will
then choose one method used in the episode to generate
the biological profile, cause/manner of death, or the elapsed time since death
of the victim. The method used must be relevant to Forensic Anthropology,
pertaining to osteological analysis or biological anthropology. Do not pic
subjects distant from the course (avoid discussing only DNA, bloodsplatter,
fingerprints, etc – stick to bones!) Then, you will research the original published method as it was described in
scientific peer-reviewed literature and provide a detailed critique of how it
was portrayed in the episode including bringing in alternative or newer methods
of relevance. Also be warned warned that choosing the wrong episode will
provide you with insufficient detail for this project and will make it
difficult or impossible to satisfy its requirements. **PLEASE WATCH SEASON 6 EPISODE 10 OF BONES- THE BODY IN THE BAG**
All Referencing (In
Discussions and Written Assignments) Must follow the AJPA style: AJPA is the
American Journal of Physical Anthropology. You can find examples of their
referencing style from their example articles, viewable for free at the AJPA Website, you may view their AJPA Author’s Guidelines, and you can find other various guides,
like this one: Zoterobib.
I have attached the directions and the rubric. The episode of Bones can be found on Hulu. I will continue to search for a free version of the episode and will send you the link asap.
